One of the downsides about the Prime is that WIFI tends to automatically shut off if you are not using it. You will be able to hook up a pair of Bluetooth headphones or speakers to the Prime and listen to music or an audiobook. It has wireless internet access and Bluetooth, but no speakers. The 2000mAh Li-ION Polymer battery should last around four weeks of using the stock e-reading experience and the dimensions are 159×114×9 mm and weighs 168 g. If you feel like enhancing it further you can slot in a 32GB SD Card. There is 8GB of internal storage, which i s double the standard amount that ships with most e-readers. Underneath the hood is a Quad-Core Cortex A9 up to 1.6 GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. There is a large demographic of people who ride public transit and are holding onto a pole or guard rail with one hand and read with the other. I think page turn buttons are tremendous on e-readers. The back of the Prime has a grooved contour that is meant to assist in holding it with one hand. The Prime has buttons on the left and right side, which means you can hold it with one hand and quickly flip pages. Many companies have abandoned manual page turn buttons and rely exclusively on the touchscreen to turn the pages of an e-book. You can read in the dark via the front-lit display and it has 8 LED lights, which provides great illumination that is evenly distributed across the screen. The screen is completely flush with the bezel, this makes it easier to use the touchscreen. The InkBook Prime features a six inch e-Ink Carta touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 758 and 212 PPI. The overall build quality premium device is really solid and it won a Red Dot award for industrial design. Until then you're perfectly fine with your own builds.Arta Tech has been developing e-readers for a number of years and have scored a major victory with the InkBook Prime. It is very refreshing to see people trying to figure out things on their devices. Thank you for your time, it's perfectly understandable, I just dont feel right with posting that poor job as PR for now. The nabuk regal hd was the first device I'm aware that uses this driver but doesn't work with regal waveforms. The whole list of waveforms for your board is in If you change it to 6 it will use EINK_WAVEFORM_MODE_GL16 instead. Weirdly doesnt work at all with NookEPDController.ĭoes KOReader works normally (without full screen updates) or it seems stuck and not responding?ītw, can you please explain what the line does?īy default it uses EINK_WAVEFORM_MODE_GLR16. We can hook as many drivers as we want, but the same idea doesn't apply to KOReader, where just one driver must stay. For the e-ink test it is as simple as hook the driver on a new button onClickListener. If someone wants to add support for newer e-ink devices (say Nook, Tolino, rk29xx) he/she needs to add a new driver. Not all devices based on rk30board are e-ink devices.RK31xx, RK32xx share the same hardware "rk30board".Which leads me to a question, why isn't the rk30xx support inferred from hardware name, since the eink test app is able to get it as well? Different implementations / revisions across hardwares? If you can't see that menu then the nightly you are using is not updated enough to recognize the driver and you'll need to wait. If you can see the menu to do full refreshes (Settings->screen->eink settings) and even then the device doesn't refresh the screen is a problem with the driver and needs work. Normal and forced updates work fine, 5d21990 commit release nightly build fails to do refreshes, though. This is the information that appears when you run einkTest: However, the "einkTest" application does run the screen refresh. It works on the Onyx C67 but not on the InkBook Prime HD (Boyue clone). I've been testing the screen refresh on my android e-readers (v2019.02-8-g3f41560_). We can't add new supported devices until these issues are fixed. Onyx e-ink devices have their own ticket in #5073. I have an onyx device which seems to work with the eink test utility Please report your test results and we can add support on the next KOReader nightly. One of the test works for me but (latest version of) KOReader does not refresh at all. Well, you can but it will stay ignored until a developer adds support for a new routine compatible with your device. I did run all the tests but no one is working for me. If you get results with the "tolino" update please answer this question too:ĭoes KOReader works normally (without full screen updates) or it seems stuck and not responding? Questions 1. You can start the tool from KOReader file manager in "Tools" -> "More Tools" -> "Developer options" -> "Start eink test". In order to add support for newer devices there's a tool included with the app. These routines are not device specific, but platform specific. KOReader has support for some eink update routines.
